Alex

Here is some useful information about our class.

Parents / Guardians:

Please feel free to speak to any of us if you have any concerns or would like anything clarified. We have an 'open door' policy at school and we will always make the time to listen to you.

Swimming:

Every Monday all Year 4 pupils will have a swimming lesson at All Seasons Leisure Centre in Chorley. Please ensure that boys bring the following: swimming trunks (not shorts); a swimming hat and a towel, We ask that girls bring the following: a one piece swimming costume (not a bikini); a swimming hat and a towel. Swimming hats are available to buy from the school office for £1.50 and goggles can be worn if a letter has been brought in to school giving permission.

PE:

PE lessons are on a Wednesday afternoon and are taught by Mr. Greener and Mr. Worthington. For the first half of Autumn term we will be having indoor and outdoor athletics lessons. Please ensure that both indoor and outdoor P.E kit is in school every Monday.

Spellings:

Spellings will be tested on a Friday with a new set of words given the same day. Spellings will be stuck in to their homework diary.

Homework:

Each week your child will receive homework on a Friday, with the majority of homework linking with the English or Maths objectives they have been learning that week. Occasionally, there will be homework linking to other subjects too.

Children should complete their homework in their school homework book and place this in the homework folder by Wednesday once completed.

Reading:

In Year 4, each pupil will be given a reading a library book. Reading books can be changed as soon as they are finished, pupils know to leave these on Mrs. Holding's desk for her to change. Please also use homework diary to communicate with Mr. Worthington and Mrs. Holding with how your child found this reading book. Library books are chosen by the pupils and are to be changed every Wednesday afternoon. The aim for each child is to change their reading book twice a week.
