Please feel free to speak to any of us if you have any concerns or would like anything clarified. We have an 'open door' policy at school and we will always make the time to listen to you.
Every Monday all Year 4 pupils will have a swimming lesson at All Seasons Leisure Centre in Chorley. Please ensure that boys bring the following: swimming trunks (not shorts); a swimming hat and a towel, We ask that girls bring the following: a one piece swimming costume (not a bikini); a swimming hat and a towel. Swimming hats are available to buy from the school office for £1 and goggles can be worn if a letter has been brought in to school giving permission.
PE lessons are on a Monday afternoon and are taught by Miss Moss and Mr. Worthington. For the first half of Autumn term we will be having indoor and outdoor athletics lessons. Please ensure that both indoor and outdoor P.E kit is in school every Monday.
Spellings will be tested on a Thursday with a new set of words given the same day. Spellings will be stuck in to their red homework book .
Each week your child will receive TWO pieces of homework on a Thursday, with the majority of homework linking with the English or Maths objectives they have been learning that week. Occasionally, there will be homework linking to other subjects too.
Children should complete their homework in their school homework book and place this in the homework folder by Tuesday once completed.
In Year 4, each pupil will be given a reading a library book. Reading books can be changed as soon as they are finished, pupils know to leave these on Mrs. Rudd's desk for her to change. Please also use the red homework diary to communicate with Mr. Worthington and Mrs. Rudd with how your child found this reading book. Library books are chosen by the pupils and are to be changed every Tuesday morning. The aim for each child is to change their reading book twice a week.
Please encourage all Year 4 pupils to complete an Accelerated Reader quiz for any books they have read at school or at home. Pupils logins can be found in their red homework diary. There will be prizes for pupils who complete the most quizzes and get the highest scores on the quizzes.
