Our Ambassadors joined ambassadors from other Chorley Primary Schools to train for their Bronze award. Over the next few months, our ambassadors will be completing tasks within school, all of which will go towards their final award at the end of the year.
Well done to the whole of Year 5, who led the assembly on Friday on the theme of internet safety in front of pupils, staff, parents and officers from Chorley Police.
Each child was presented a certificate by the Sergeant to show that they had taken part in project work to help raise awareness of internet safety in primary schools.
Did you know...
Social Media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, twitter, youtube and snapchat require you to be 13 years old over to create an account.
IP address (computer identities) leave a digital footprint on all internet sites and apps that are visited. Police and professionals can use these to track activities online.
Universities and employers use the internet to check up on people who have applied to them.
This morning, Year 5 arrived to find that their classroom had been "broken into" by illegal loggers who had destroyed their rainforest. It was a huge shock and the children felt sad and disappointed that all their hard work being ruined. Unfortunately, as the children started to tidy up and put things back into the correct places, they realised that the rainforest could not be repaired. The classroom now looks very bare, but the experience has created a huge talking point ready for writing.
