Our story this week was 'Pumpkin Soup' so we've had lots of pumpkin ideas to explore! We began by tasting some pumpkin pie, kindly made by Mrs Doherty (some children loved it...others weren't so keen!) We also rolled different sized pumpkins down a hill to see which rolled the fastest, created 'ghost pumpkins' at the creative table and painted pumpkins on the computer!
It was also 'Art Week' so we learned about the artist Vincent Van Gogh and recreated one of his sunflower paintings.
Our fun week ended with 'Travel by Tuba,' who are musicians that create music with the children using a range of instruments and finally the school disco!
We will carry on with our pumpkin theme for the first week back after half term as there were so many pumpkin ideas that we didn't get to try out...the children are looking forward to making pumpkin soup!
